April 2015, Hannover/Oelsnitz: The textile innovations from the RaumConTex and LanoTex networks enjoyed a highly positive reception at the 2015 Hannover Messe. At the world's largest industrial show in Hannover from 13 - 17 April 2015, LUVO-IMPEX GmbH and the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, Institute of Energy and Transport presented the results of research carried out by the LanoTex and RaumConTex networks. The trade fair is one of the most important political and economic information platforms worldwide.
The visitors to the booth were captivated by tick-repellent textiles, air conditioning for barns, and embroidered electronics offering a wide range of industrial applications. Steffi Volland, the MD of LUVO-IMPEX GmbH, used the opportunity to explain to high-level visitors from the world of politics, such as the Parliamentary Secretary of State, Brigitte Zypries MdB, the Minister for Economic Affairs in Saxony, Martin Dulig, and Undersecretary Dr. Ole Janssen and the Director of Wirtschaftsförderung Saxony GmbH, P.G. Notnagel, the importance of textile innovations and the possibilities and fields of application they open up for industry, agriculture and forestry in the future.
The special visitors were particularly impressed by the RaumConTex concept. Partners from various industries, such as Halbmond Teppichwerke GmbH Oelsnitz, Geramöbel GmbH, Weberei Elite Reichenbach, Gardinenkonfektion J. Jacob Grünbach, Steinmetz Ballmann GmbH Oelsnitz, Textilausrüstung Pfand GmbH Lengenfeld, along with scientific partners such as the Institute for Energy and Transport of the WHZ, are working on new solutions for near-body heat transfer systems to increase energy efficiency in rooms.
Radiant heat as a dominating transfer principle for air conditioning is already being implemented in surface heating or cooling (underfloor heating, ceiling cooling systems). The RaumConTex project is creating new textile-based technical possibilities to provide cost-efficient thermal activation of small spaces in the workplace. By supplying warmth directly through a liquid, both heating and cooling is possible. Intelligently placing the heating elements at workstations allows excellent performance to be achieved in a short time. New heat exchangers (textiles, liquid/gas circulating surfaces) will be developed and integrated into furniture.
The exhibition was a great success and demonstrates that the RaumConTex and LanoTex partners are on the right track for the future with their textile-based solutions approach.
Attendance of the networks at the show was financially facilitated through funding from the BMWi's Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM) along with participation in the Joint Innovation Stand of the State of Saxony.
